Fluance Fi30 Bluetooth Speaker System Overview
The Fi30 as I mentioned is not your typical Bluetooth speaker, it is much larger! The official dimensions are 16.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 in and it actually weighs in at 8.13lbs. So the system is actually quite heavy too, that usually is a sign a quality when it comes to audio components.
We received the Piano Black version of the Fi30 which looks great. The glossy black finish is a fingerprint magnet though. It would have been nice if there was a microfiber cloth included to keep the unit nice a clean. Fluance offers the unit in Glacier White and Bamboo as well so there should be a color option that will fit your needs.
The front of the unit has the Fluance logo on it and a small LED that will indicate that the unit is powered on. The unit features dual 3-inch woven glass fiber composite drivers. These execute a faster response resulting in a broader dynamic range. The cabinet housing the speakers is made of wood, but not any type of wood audiophile MDF wood that suppresses resonance for accurate response. The unit also features a 6W amplifier.
Moving around to the back of the unit you will find a few connections. The first is a USB port, this will allow for charging of the device you are using. Our Bluetooth devices do only have a limited battery so having this port makes sure the device playing our music won’t run out of juice. The second connection is the auxiliary in, which can be used if you happen to have a device that does not have Bluetooth capabilities. There is a reset pairing button and finally a power switch and power cable. There are no audio controls on the device itself, you control everything from your device. This keeps the rest of the speaker system nice and clean.
One the bottom of the unit there are 4 feet that should keep the unit from moving around all that much.
