Fractal Design Pop Air RGB Case Review

A look Inside

Removing the main side panel we can get a good look inside the case. As you can see we have that beautiful orange interior, which really adds some nice contrast to the case. The inside of the case has a pretty standard two compartment design. As far as the motherboard tray goes you have support for motherboards up to ATX and there are two large cable routing channels. For those wondering this case will support graphics cards as long as 405 mm and CPU coolers up to 170 mm.

The bottom part of the case is sectioned off by a full-length power supply cover. This cover has ventilation for your power supply, two smaller cable routing holes, and a Fractal logo that you can see through the side panel window.

The expansion slot covers are the normal ones, not the cheap ones you have to bend off the case, and they all are held into place by thumbscrews.

The opposite side panel is held into place by two thumbscrews so it is pretty easy to remove. Once removed we can see how the rest of the cause laid out. The first thing that stands out is the removable SSD tray, which supports two SSDs. You can actually move this tray and install it on the power supply cover if you wanted to. Additionally you’ll be able to purchase a second SSD bracket for $7.99 if you need more SSD capacity.

There are two Velcro cable ties pre-installed on the rear of the case to make cable routing easier and there are quite a few tie-down points for the included zip ties.

In the bottom section of the case towards the front you have to removable storage trays. These trays support both a 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drive at the same time, so out of the box you have support for up to 6 hard drives, with the ability to expand that. The trays are held in place by a single thumbscrew, which makes them easy to remove from the case for installation. These storage trays as well as the SSD bracket are made of metal. The rest of the bottom of the case is for your power supply and this case supports ATX power supplies up to 170 mm in length.
