G.Skill Ripjaws-X DDR3-2133 8GB Dual Channel Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts
8GB dual channel memory kits that run at 2133 MHz are few and far between, looking online at my favorite retailer this is the ONLY 8GB dual channel kit available!  That puts G.Skill in a unique position being one of the only manufacturer’s to offer this super high performance memory in the 8GB capacity.  I’ve looked online at 3 of the most popular memory manufacturer’s websites and none of them are offering 8GB dual channel memory running at 2133 MHz.  If you are running a Sandy Bridge system and want the fastest and largest capacity memory available this is it!

As far as design and looks go the black PCB with the red heatspreader looks great.  The modules will really stand out in your system and if you have a motherboard like the one from ASUS’s Republic of Gamers line they will fit right in.  The Silence II cooler is a nice addition, although because of clearance we were not able to install it.  It has bright blue LED’s, I would have liked to see red LED’s instead that would match the colors of the heatspreaders.

The only real issue you might run in to with these modules is that the heatspreaders, while still small might get in the way of your CPU cooler.  This all depends on your CPU cooler and motherboard setup.

As I said this is the only 8GB dual channel 2133 MHz kit available that I know of.  Right now it is selling for $199 at my favorite online retailer.  Overall ThinkComputers gives the G.Skill Ripjaws-X DDR3-2133 8GB Dual Channel Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
