In 2023, GALAX marks its 20th anniversary with a departure from the Taiwan market, driven by strategic changes. To honor this milestone, GALAX introduces two special editions of the GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. The GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 20th Anniversary Edition boasts a unique design, featuring a cooling system that, despite not using a Vapor Chamber, effectively manages the 200W Total Graphics Power (TGP). In Performance mode, this edition can reach a TGP of 215W.
Deviating from the white and carbon fiber black color schemes found in the GeForce RTX 4090 20th Anniversary Edition, this variant is centered around the GeForce RTX 4070. Its cooling system incorporates two front fans and one rear fan, resembling NVIDIA’s Founders Edition design for the GeForce RTX 40 series. Additionally, this dual-slot card showcases a creative hidden 8-Pin power supply design.
Yet, the arrangement of its PCB, accommodating two DRAMs, is not compatible with the GeForce RTX 4070 Super or GeForce RTX 4070 Ti due to variances in the PCIe 8-Pin power supply configuration. Like its 4090 counterpart, the GeForce RTX 4070 20th Anniversary Edition includes the Parade PS8419 HDMI Retimer IC to enhance and stabilize HDMI signal quality, especially advantageous for extended HDMI cable connections.
The development of a 20th-anniversary edition for the GeForce RTX 4070 Super is uncertain. The anticipated release of the GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 20th Anniversary Edition is slated for December in the Chinese market, catering exclusively to Chinese consumers.
