GALAX Announces GeForce RTX 3060 Metaltop Mini Graphics Card

GALAX has released a new GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card.

The GALAXY RTX 3060 Metaltop Mini [FG] graphics card is based on the latest GA106-302 GPU, also known as the RTX 3060 LHR SKU. The FG stands for ‘For Gamers,’ which is what GALAX believes will deter crypto-miners from purchasing these cards (spoiler alert: it won’t).

GALAX has released 155 different SKUs for the GeForce RT 30 series alone. Interestingly, none of the previous cards were Mini-ITX, implying that the Metaltop Mini is the first single-fan design in the entire Ampere series.

The RTX 3060 Metaltop has a length of 16.8 cm, a width of 11.5 cm, and a height of 4 cm. Despite the fact that the card has a single fan, it supports 0dB technology, which means that the fan will be turned off under a light load.

So, technically, this would be an ideal card for a home theatre PC, thanks to its large 12GB GDDR6 memory and near-silent operation.

However, this is not the only RTX 3060 card in the Mini-ITX form factor. Colorful, another Chinese company, recently unveiled its iGame Mini series, which, interestingly, also includes a shroud in a similar color scheme:

The RTX 3060 Metaltop Mini FG is not factory overclocked. The card has a default boost clock of 1777 MHz and no OC-button, unlike the Colorful’s model. Galax confirms that the card will be available soon through the company’s webstore. The announcement came from Galax China, so it is unclear whether the company intends to sell this model in other regions.
