Galaxy Unveils HOF M.2 SSD With Heat-pipe Heatsink

Galaxy has just revealed a new Hall of Fame (HOF) M.2 PCIe solid state drive. This drive is very unique as it features a white aluminum heatsink that makes use of a flattened copper heat pipe that will pull heat off the drives components. This heat pipe will make direct contact with the drives’s Phison PS5012-E12 8-channel controller and Toshiba 64-layer 3D TLC NAND flash chips.

Keeping with the while theme the PCB of the drive is white as well. Galaxy will be offering the drive in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB versions. All three versions will offer read speeds of 3400 MB/s. The 1 and 2TB models will offer write speeds of 2800 MB/s, while the 512 GB version only writes at 2000 MB/s. This drive will be launching in China to start, hopefully we will see it in western markets under the Galax and KFA2 brands later in the year.
