Although the GeForce RTX 4060 maintains its $299 price, the Ti version is facing competition from AMD’s newly released RX 7600 XT, priced at $329. While not as fast as the RTX 4060 Ti, the Radeon model boasts 16GB of RAM, affecting NVIDIA’s promotion of budget GPUs with similar memory capacity.
NVIDIA launched its 16GB variant of the RTX 4060 Ti last year, initially priced at $430, which is over $70 below the suggested retail price. Despite a minor increase to $444, it remains significantly lower than the less favorable $499 MSRP set in July last year.
Our attention is directed towards the 8GB variant, particularly the Gigabyte Gaming OC model. The price of this card has recently been reduced to $343.99 at two major US retailers, suggesting that Gigabyte has strategically implemented this price adjustment, rather than it being an individual retailer’s decision. The current price is 14% lower than its June 2023 counterpart, which was $399. Despite occasional availability at prices up to 10% lower, this marks the first instance the card has reached this specific level.
According to the TechPowerUP review, the 8GB variant of the RTX 4060 Ti exhibits a performance advantage of 10% to 20% compared to the Radeon RX 7600 XT, despite being only 4.5% ($15) more expensive. Unless targeting 4K resolution, which isn’t the primary market for this 128-bit model, it offers a more favorable deal than the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, currently priced at $444 (the current lowest).
