Gigabyte has just announced a new socket 1150 motherboard into their G1.Gaming series for people who do not plan on overclocking their processors, the G1.Sniper B6. The board is based on Intel’s B85 chipset and comes with support for “Haswell” and “Devil’s Canyon” CPUs.
The board has the classic green and black design that we have seen from Gigabyte in the past. The board has two PCI-Express x16 slots, although only one is gen 3.0 x16 and wired to the CPU, the other is electrical gen 2.0 x4 and wired to the PCH. So there is no NVIDIA SLI support. Other expansion includes two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and a legacy PCI slot.
For storage you have four SATA 6GB/s ports, two SATA 3GB/s ports and a M.2 10 GB/s slot. For gamers Gigabyte has included AMP UP onboard audio that features EMI shielding, 115 dBa SNR CODEC, ground-layer isolation, audio-grade electrolytic capacitors, and a user replaceable headphone amp. The board is expected to be priced around $120.
