Gigabyte BRIX Projector Overview
The Gigabyte BRIX Projector is a very small system, you can actually hold it in your hand quite easily. The official dimensions for the projector model are 48.9 mm x 107.6 mm x 114.4 mm (1.93″ x 4.24″ x 4.5″). So as you can see this small device can fit pretty much anywhere.
Starting on the front of the device we can see the lens for the projector. For those wondering the projector is a DLP (LED backlit) projector that has a WVGA resolution of 864 x 480 and a brightness of 75 ANSI lumen. There are two USB 3.0 ports and a headphone port on the front.
The top of the unit is pretty much plain. It have a nice glossy finish to it, which as you can see is a fingerprint magnet. There is a Gigabyte logo as well as a small power button.
Moving around to the back you will find the rest of your connections. These include two more USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, mini DisplayPort, HDMI and your power connection. There is also a mini HDMI in for the projector as you can connect external devices to it if you wish. The projector has its own power switch and there is a lock port on the back of the unit as well.
On each side of the unit are small ventilation holes to help with cooling. On the left side is a small speaker and on the right side is a focus adjuster for the projector.
The bottom of the unit has four rubber feet that will keep it from moving around too much on your desk. There is also a tripod connection for the included mini tripod.
If you remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the unit you can take it off and it will reveal what is inside. As we said this is a kit so you will need to install your own DDR3L memory and mSATA drive. The BRIX supports up to 16GB of DDR3L memory with speeds of 1600 MHz.
