Gigabyte Teases TRX40 AORUS Motherboard

AMD is likely to announce their upcoming Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series processors based on the 7nm manufacturing process on November 5th. November 5th will also be the day that the new AMD TRX40 HEDT chipset will be revealed. Gigabyte is hard at work on motherboards for these new processor and a teaser of one has been leaked, which appears to be a TRX40 AORUS motherboard.

GBT AORUS TRX40 1

This is an E-ATX motherboard, which is pretty similar in size to the X399 AORUS Xtreme model. It has four PCI-Express 4.0 x16 slots and eight DDR4 memory slots which support quad-channel memory. It appears that TRX40 will be the only chipset with this configuration, while TRX40 and WRX80 are likely to support eight-channel memory. We can also spot an active cooling fan on the chipset which indicates that the TDP of these chipsets are high and need to be actively cooled.

Other features that can be spotted are of course the RGB lighting along the edge of the board and on the chipset heatsink. There is also a post code display and USB 3.2 gen 2 header towards the top of the board.
