This past weekend HYTE and iBUYPOWER were holding an event at Micro Center to celebrate their collaboration with Honkai: Star Rail. This event allowed fans to meet Honkai: Star Rail content creators, participate in onsite activities based on the game to receive exclusive items, and to purchase products in HYTE’s Silver Wolf product line as well as the iBUYPOWER RDY Y70 Silver Wolf prebuilt gaming system. While this event was mainly about the already announced Honkai: Star Rail products, HYTE actually had some unreleased and prototype products for us to check out! These included their 360mm THICC Q80 Trio liquid CPU cooler, powered USB Hub, and qRGB Noodle.
THICC Q80 Trio
We are finally going to see a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooling system from HYTE. This is of course a follow up to their THICC Q60. The THICC Q80 Trio will have a 360mm-long, 52mm-thick radiator, which of course lives up to the “THICC” name. For the fans HYTE has switched from individual fans to a single-frame fan design. This triple-fan design is 32mm thick and has 105.8 CFM of airflow and 8.14 mm-H2O static pressure. Being a single-frame is going to make installation much easier. HYTE has also redesigned the copper cold plate with 50% higher skived fin coverage and an upgraded liquid flow path. You are going to get the same 5-inch IPS display. Color options will be all black or all white. Expect the THICC Q80 Trio to launch in January at CES, pricing is not finalized, but should be around $349.
qRGB Noodle
HYTE is going to be coming out with diffused RGB strips specifically made for their cases. There will be the LN70 for their 70-series cases and their LN60 for their 60-series cases. These RGB strips are flexible and can easily be bent into place. They will also come with mounting clips to make installation easy. Like with most products in the HYTE ecosystem these will connect via a Type-C connector and work with their Nexus software. There will be both black and white colorways available. Unfortunately the prototype at the event was an early sample so we did not get to see it turned on. These should launch in January at CES.
Powered USB Hub
One thing motherboards never seem to have enough of is internal USB 2.0 headers. These are of course used mostly for controllers for things like AiO’s, lighting controllers, and more. HYTE wants to solve this problem with their Internal Universal Hub. This takes a single USB 2.0 header input and turns it into four powered USB 2.0 headers. It has a pretty low profile design and it is magnetic so you can easily mount it inside your case. No word on pricing, but expect this to be launched at CES in January.
Y70 Touch Infinite
HYTE has a new Y70 PC case, which they are calling Y70 Touch Infinite. This is the same Y70 Touch that you all know and love, but with a 3rd generation updated display. This 14.5-inch integrated touchscreen display features a 688 x 2560 (2.5K) resolution (183 PPI) at a fluid 60Hz refresh rate with a 50% faster pixel response time than before and a 25% higher contrast ratio. The display is also 10-point touch, which is great! For current Y70 owners you’ll also be able to buy the display as a standalone upgrade. Currently available on HYTE’s webshop the Y70 Touch Infinite is $379.99, while the display upgrade is $199.99.
Excited to see the final versions of the unreleased products in January at CES 2025!
