HYTE Eclipse HG10 Wireless Gaming Headset Review

HYTE Eclipse HG10 Wireless Gaming Headset Overview

Taking a first look at the Eclipse HG10 we can see that HYTE has gone with a sort of white / grey color for the headset. They are calling this Lunar Grey, but I think it looks awesome, especially compared to all of the other gaming headsets out there with RGB lighting, which you won’t find on this headset. The only thing I really worry about with the color of this headset is how it will show wear etc.

The headset does have a lay-flat design, which I always like to see with headsets. This makes them easy to pack away in a backpack and sit around your neck without the earcups getting in the way. Talking about the earcups these are rather interesting as they do not have a full circular design, but rather a “D” shape. It will be interesting to see if this effects how these feel on your ears after long gaming sessions. Around each earcup you have foam and vegan leather, which feels quite good.

The outside of the earcups are plastic and have the HYTE logo on them. On the “flat” side you’ll find a bunch of HYTE “H” logos which have been engraved into the plastic. This actually gives this part of the earcup some grip, which makes putting on and removing the headset easier.

On the left earcup you’ll find a connection for the detachable microphone, USB-C connection, indication LED, and a volume wheel. On the right earcup all you’ll find is a microphone mute button and an indication LED that lets you know when you do indeed have the microphone muted.

Talking about the omnidirectional microphone is easily attaches to the headset and you can bend it to a preferred location.

The headset does make use of a metal headband, which you can easily adjust for the best fit. On each side of the headband it lets you know which channel is which. In the center of the headband is a piece of foam which is wrapped in vegan leather.
