Iceberg Thermal IceSLEET G4 Midnight CPU Cooler Review

Installation

We will be doing our installation on an Intel Z490 system so this installation would be pretty much the same for Intel LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, and 1155 sockets.

Iceberg Thermal ships the cooler with the included backplate all setup for Intel installation. You can actually adjust the pegs if you are installing on 775 or 1366.

Take the backplate and install it on the backside of your motherboard, threading the pegs through the holes on your motherboard. Then flip your motherboard over and place the spacers on top of the pegs.

With the spacers in place take the Intel mounting bars and install them like you see in the picture below. You secure them with the included thumbscrews.

Remove the fan and top cap from the cooler, then very carefully place it on top of your CPU lining up the screws on the cooler with the pegs on the mounting bars. Tighten the screws on each side to secure the cooler.

Now go ahead and reinstall the top cap and fan. Finally connect the fan to the CPU fan header on your motherboard and be sure to connect the 3-pin ARG header to the header on your motherboard.

With the cooler installed we have more than enough room for memory clearance as the fan does not even cover our memory modules. Being that this is a smaller cooler you should have no problem installing it with your motherboard mounted inside of your case.
