As things slowly get back to normal (depending on where you live) we are travelling more, working from coffee shops, and much more. With this I have been looking for a thin and light laptop that will serve my needs. While I have a massive 17-inch gaming laptop it is not the easiest to travel with and forget taking it down to the local coffee shop! I just want something that I can easily throw in my backpack, is not all that heavy, and can handle my daily needs of running this website as well as photo and video editing. Enter the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9, a 14-inch thin and light laptop with a carbon fiber and magnesium alloy chassis that weights in at only around 2.5 lbs! Lenovo sent us over the 20XW004DUS model which features an Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB DDR4-4267 memory (soldered), a 512GB NVMe SSD, and a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display. Let’s take a look and see what the new Gen 9 ThinkPad X1 Carbon is all about!
Processor: Intel Core i7-1165G7(2.8Ghz)
Memory: 2×8 GB (LPDDR4 4267)
Graphics: Intel Iris Xe
Display: 14″ (1920×1200)
Battery: SMP Cell (57 Wh)
Wireless: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 comes in a pretty standard box that you would get if you picked the laptop up online or at your local computer store. Inside we find our laptop nicely protected.
Inside the box you’ll find the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9, charger, and a user’s guide.
The charger itself is very compact and small, which I like. It is a 65W charger that uses a Type-C connection for charging. One really cool thing about it, is that it supports rapid charge, so you can charge up your laptop from zero to 80% in about an hour! This is perfect for plugging in on the go or say on a layover at an airport!
