Benchmarks & Testing
We will be running the ThinkPad X1 Carbon through a handful of different benchmarks and tests. Unfortunately we do not have any other laptops to test it against, but these results will give you a good idea of performance. First up we have PCMark 10.
Next up is Geekbench 5.
Moving on to graphics benchmarks we ran both the 3DMark Time Spy and 3DMark Fire Strike benchmarks.
As far as storage goes we tested the PCIe hard drive in the laptop using CrystalDiskMark.
We used the ADATA SE900G Portable Solid State Drive to test the speed of the USB and Thunderbolt 4 ports. For those who don’t know Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C) ports will work with normal USB devices, but run at USB 3.2 gen 2 speeds. So here is our drive connected to one of the Type-C ports.
We then connected the drive to one of the normal USB-A ports which run at USB 3.2 gen 1 (5 Gbps) speeds.
