Intel Broadwell CPU Details Start to Emerge

It looks like we are finally getting some information on the CPUs that will follow the upcoming “Haswell” processors. It is actually pretty strange that we know any information at all as “Haswell” chips are not even out yet. The codename for the new processors will be “Broadwell” and they will be released in the second quarter of 2014. These processors will rely on 9-series based Z97 and H97 chipsets.

The Z97 will be the high-end boards for enthusiasts and H97 will be the more mainstream option. Both of these options will have the latest SATA Express support, which means data transfers of 10-16GB/s. The source says that the socket will remain the same keeping the LGA 1150 socket from “Haswell” alive.
