Engineering samples of Intel’s upcoming Core i9-9700K 8-core, 16-thread mainstream desktop have surfaced and are being tested. Someone installed on on a Z370 motherboard with the latest BIOS and overclocked it close to 5.5 GHz!
The chip was installed on a ASRock Z370 Professional Gaming motherboard with 16GB of G.SKill memory. The overclock brought all 8 cores to 5553.7 MHz. Using this overclock Cinbench R15 was run and scored a CPU score of 1827 and a single core score of 250. That puts above AMD’s Ryzen 7 2700X.
