Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Overview
For those who prefer video check out our video overview of the IdeaCentre Horizon below.
The IdeaCentre Horizon is a big piece of hardware. Just imagine a 27-inch LCD, that is basically what the Horizon is, except it also is a fully fledged computer as well. The system has to some weight to it as well, it is just under 20 lbs. The display itself has rubber on all sides which makes it easy to move around and it won’t scratch your desk either. The 27-inch display is a 10-point touch display that has a glossy (anti-glare) finish. This is a true 1080p display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. At the top center of the unit is a 720p webcam that you can use for Skype calls or to take photos / videos.
On the bottom edges of the display you will find touch-sensitive buttons and LED indicators. On the right side you have volume up / down, brightness, another button and another button. On the left side there are LED indicators for hard drive usage, Bluetooth, WiFi and battery.
Taking a look at the unit from the side you really can see that it is not all that thick at all. Since this is a 27-inch display Lenovo has much more room for components compared to smaller all-in-one units. Remember inside of the unit you have an Intel Core i7-3537U, NVIDIA GeForce GT620M, 8 GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth 4.0.
Holding up the entire unit is a very strong a sturdy metal stand. It is designed in such a way that allows you to easily adjust your viewing angle. You can even put the Horizon into tablet mode with ease. Be sure to check out our overview video to see just how easy this can be done.
On the left side of the unit is a single power button. On the opposite side is where you are going to find all of your connections. These include microphone, headphones, card reader, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and power.
