Lian Li PC-Q08 Mini-ITX Cube Case Review

A Look Inside
Getting inside the case is not the simplest thing.  Most cases, even small cube cases use thumbscrews to make things easy, but Lian Li uses 6 small screws on the side panel that need to be removed before you can get inside the case.  These screws enable the side panel of the case to have that flush look, but are a pain to take out every time you want to get inside the case.  After we remove the side panel we can take a look inside.  The internal design is pretty simple and surprisingly there is a lot of space inside.

Starting at the front of the case you can get a look at the large 140mm intake fan and the 2 hard drive cages.  The top hard drive cage will hold 4 hard drives and the bottom will hold 2.  Both cages are removable, but the top cage uses a thumbscrew whereas the bottom cage uses 4 screws on the bottom of the case.  Moving up you can see the 5.25-inch mounting cage, there is also a small spot for a single 2.5-inch drive.

Moving around to the back of the case there really is not much to see.  You can see where your motherboard and power supply will be mounted.  Looking up you can see the 120mm exhaust fan as well.
