Lowepro Pro Trekker 300 AW Camera / Laptop Bag Review

Usage
This bag is just huge so I decided to find a lot of gear to put inside it. I decided to load it up with Canon Rebel XT D-SLR camera, Dell XPS M1210 laptop, Samsung SC-MX20E digital camcorder, Polaroid t833 digital camera, Flip MinoHD digital camcorder, ICY DOCK MB668U-1SB hard drive enclosure, Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB portable hard drive with docking station, card reader, 3 flash drives, Sprint EVDO card, Kingston MobileLite G2, 2 iPhone cases, headphones, and some pens. This is sure a lot of gear, more than what I would normally carry with me. The little compartments for your memory cards actually come in handy.

I put most of the gear in the large main compartment. My D-SLR camera easily fit in the main compartment and there are Velcro straps that enable you to tighten things for a better fit, which will make sure things don’t move around inside the bag. Some gear that I might want easy access to I put in the outer compartment. It all fit nicely and easily inside.

After I had everything loaded up I went ahead and put the bag on and surprisingly it was very comfortable. It did not feel like I was carrying a huge load! The waist straps also made things a lot easier although they were not needed.

Final Thoughts
First off this bag is not for everyone; if you are looking for a simple camera / laptop bag this sure is not it! Lowepro does have other offerings for that type of things. This bag is made for someone who needs to carry a ton of gear in any weather for a long amount of time and wants all that gear to stay protected. This is the largest laptop / camera bag I’ve looked at from Lowepro!

Just like all Lowepro bags this bag has the heavy-duty YKK splashguard zippers, ballistic nylon design, dedicated memory card pockets and mesh-covered padding on the back. Also since this is an all-weather bag you have the all-weather cover that protects the bag from basically any type of harsh weather.

This bag is just a beast, anyone who does outdoor or extreme photography would love it! The only thing I did not like was that it does not come with the hydration reservoir, why have a spot for it if it’s not included?

Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lowepro Pro Trekker 300 AW Camera Bag a 9 out of 10 score.
