Earlier this month we showed you the reveal of MSI’s GeForce GTX 970 Golden Edition and now MSI has officially announced the card. As you can see from the photo below MSI is really taking the golden thing seriously even making the retail box all gold!
The thing we were not clear on in our previous post was the clock speeds of the card. There is a factory overclock of 1165 MHz core and 1317 MHz boost with the memory sitting at 7010 MHz (effective). MSI is using their Twin Frozr V thermal design on this card, but instead of the red accents on the shroud like we would normally see on the Gaming Series card this card has of course gold accents.
Adding even more to the golden design MSI has added an all copper heatsink fin array and copper heatpipes. The fans on the cooler are the new 100 mm Torx fans. The card also will have a pretty nice back-plate that has the MSI Dragon Logo on it in gold.
The MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G GOLDEN EDITION will be available exclusively in the USA and APAC countries. Pricing was not released.
