MSI Optix MPG341CQR Overview
Being an Ultrawide display the monitor with its attached stand is pretty large, MSI gives the official dimensions as 810.6 x 563 x 324.2 mm / 31.9 x 22.17 x 12.76 inch. So be sure you’ll have enough room on your desk for this display. Like most displays these days with have very thin bezels on the sides and top, while there is a large bezel at the bottom of the display.
Right at the center of the bottom bezel is a camera, more on that in a bit. On the far right there is a power button and a small indication LED. That is the only button you’ll find on the front of the display.
Along the bottom of the monitor you’ll see 5 LED bars. These of course will light up with RGB lighting, but will also work with SteelSeries GameSense to represent certain stats (ammo, health, etc) for certain titles.
This is a curved display with a 1800R curve. I think that curve is pretty much spot on for a 34-inch Ultrawide display.
The stand is very ROG-like with a gold accent in the center. The stand is definitely sturdy enough for the display. There is a cable-routing hole in the center of the stand that will keep all of your cables organized.
The stand allows you to move the display up and down, here is it at its lowest and highest level.
The stand also allows you to swivel the display left and right.
On the side of the display there are two USB 3.2 gen 1 ports as well as headphone and microphone jacks.
Moving around to the back of the display we have a MSI logo on the right side and on the left there is a row of RGB lights. These of course you will not see and they are definitely not bright enough for a good back-glow on a wall. Towards the bottom left there is a small joystick which you can use to open the OSD menu, but you’ll see in just a bit why you’ll never have to use it.
As far as connections go on the back of the display you have 1 DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0, 1 USB Type-C, a USB input, USB 3.2 gen 1 output, and a audio combo jack. On the opposite side of most of the connection is your large standard power connector.
