MSI has announced its new business laptops lineup despite its well-known reputation for gaming laptops. The line up consists of the Summit E series and the Summit B series with 14 and 15 inches display size. A 13-inch convertible, E13 Flip is also announced.
No announcement is made regarding the pricing and availability for the Summit line but it surely seems to be a premium series. It features an aluminum chassis and thin bezels. MSI promises “military-grade durability” for its premium lineup.
Both E and B series are equipped with great features. The big news is that Intel’s 11th generation “Tiger Lake” processors will power the laptops along with the support for Thunderbolt 4.
The E series offers discrete graphic card options up to NVIDIA 1650Ti and Max-Q design which shows that they are inclined towards creative individuals. As per MSI, they also feature “AI noise cancellation” which helps remove the background noises during video calls. The E series has a non-touch 1080p touch panel, but a couple of variants are available with touch options too. The first option covers 72 percent of the NTSC space while the second option hits 100 percent of the Adobe RGB Gamut.
The E15 has two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports and an HDMI port while the E14 has a single USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port and an HDMI port. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports, micro SD card reader, a headphone jack is provided in both the models. Facial recognition, Fingerprint authentication, and TPM 2.0 security chips are also offered in both the models.
MSI claims a 10-hour battery life for the B series. You have the option to choose from a 1080p display covering 100 percent of the sRGB gamut or the lower end version that covers 45 percent of the NTSC color space. It includes two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports and an HDMI port. One Thunderbolt 4 port, micro SD card reader, and a headphone jack are provided in both the models.
E13 Flip is also included in the Summit laptop series. It is a convertible laptop with a 360-degree hinge. MSI says it will be available by the end of 2020.
MSI has also released the Stealth 15M laptop and says it is “the world thinnest 15-inch gaming laptop in its class”. It also is powered by Tiger Lake chips, discrete graphic cards up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q along with a 144hz screen, and an RGB keyboard. The laptop will be available for purchase in October with a starting price of $1549.
