Mushkin Blackline DDR4-2800 8GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts
I think that Mushkin’s new Redline DDR4 memory kits will put them back on the map for many people. For starters they look great! I think we know these days you need to have a product that not only performs well, but looks good as well. The new Ridgeline heatspreaders are unique and are some of the sleekest heatspreaders that I’ve seen from Mushkin. Also Mushkin has finally gone with a black PCB to match the heatspeaders which looks great!

Now this memory is not all about looks though, it has great performance as well! The 997207T kit that we reviewed today runs at 2800 MHz with timings of 16-16-16-36 at 1.2V. Those a pretty tight timings and we were even able to get an extra 400 MHz out of this kit at those timings with a simple voltage boost. Not that bad at all as many DDR4 kits cannot get that high with tighter timings.

One thing that many people might not know about Mushkin is that their products are designed, assembled, and tested in the U.S.A. So if you feel a certain way about that type of thing that gives you a reason to give this kit another look. Mushkin also backs this kit and all of their memory kits with a lifetime warranty.

Right now the kit is selling at our favorite online retailer for $98.99. This price does seem a bit high as a 3400 MHz 8GB kit we just reviewed was actually a bit lower in cost and most 8GB 2800 MHz kit are around $60-70. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Mushkin Blackline DDR4-2800 8GB Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score.
