NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Reference PCB Pictured

The first photos of the GeForce GTX 1080 reference PCB has been posted online. NVIDIA is selling this reference design as their “Founders Edition” card with a $100 premium. Taking a look at the pictures we can see that the GTX 1080 PCB is far less crowded than the GTX 980 reference PCB. It looks like we have a 6-phase VRM with DrMos chips, drawing power from a single 8-pin PCI-Express power connector.

The 16 nm GP104 ASIC has a smaller die than the one featured on the 28 nm GM204. Around the chip we have eight 8 Gbit GDDR5X memory chips, which also come in smaller packages than the normal GDDR5 chips.
