NVIDIA Is Working On GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card with 20 GB GDDR6X VRAM

As per a renowned leaker (Kopite7kimi ), NVIDIA is again working on the RTX 3080 SKU. The company had reported that they are working on RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 featuring 16GB GDDR6 and 20GB GDDR6X memory respectively.

The company had first dropped RTX 3080 from its plans, and since the launch of RTX 3090 there was no reason to offer the RTX 3080 Ti, but they are doing it to compete with the latest AMD Radeon RX 6000 series.

As for the RTX 3080 Ti features, it is expected that it will feature the 20 GDDR6X memory configuration and it might feature the same core count as the RTX 3090, 10496 FP32 cores. This surprising move by NVIDIA indicates that the Ti version will not be cheap and it also tells that NVIDIA is trying to keep the same GA-102 die between RTX 3090 and the reported RTX 3080 Ti. Kopite also provided the board and SKU numbers (PG133 SKU 15) along with the GPU codename: GA102-250.

It is reported that RTX 3080Ti will share the same memory amount, bus, core clock speed, memory speed, and board TGP as the RTX 3080. These things are the performance differentiator against the RTX 3090.

There’s no word on the pricing yet, but a sensible guess is that will share the same price tag as the RX 6900 XT.
