NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Outsells AMD RX 7600 XT On Launch Day

Initially, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER faced issues related to MSI’s BIOS, yet those eager to upgrade appeared undeterred. Alongside the launch of this NVIDIA GPU, AMD introduced the Radeon RX 7600 XT, a distinct class of GPU with a 16GB storage capacity.

After the embargo was lifted, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RX 7600 XT swiftly became available for purchase at the German retailer Mindfactory. Notably, both these SKUs lack a reference or Founder’s Edition design, opting for custom designs by board partners. Our database reveals that the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER boasts 60 designs from these partners, surpassing the 11 variants offered for the RX 7600 XT. This disparity directly influences the range of options presented by retailers, with a significantly broader selection for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

According to 3DCenter’s report, AMD cards saw 30 units sold on the launch day, significantly fewer than the estimated 280 to 300 units for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (this figure is an estimate due to some offers being sold out before complete data retrieval). This translates to 9 or possibly 10 times more sales for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. However, it’s worth noting that both RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti cards had similarly lackluster or even worse launches, as reported by 3DCenter.

Scarcity of Radeon GPUs and instances where certain cards were priced above AMD’s suggested retail value contributed to sluggish sales. Although there has been a change, with some cards now priced below the recommended value, it hasn’t notably improved the situation.

Gamers express dissatisfaction with the current entry-level segments offered by both NVIDIA and AMD. Given the option, many turn to previous-generation products or consider second-hand offers. While performance matters, the crucial factor often lies in the price-to-performance value.

The Radeon RX 7800 XT exemplified a successful launch, witnessing the sale of 400 units. This marks more than 13 times the sales of the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB on its launch day. Conversely, the RX 7700 XT, priced just $50 lower, garnered 10 times less interest.
