Cyberpunk 2077 is the talk of the town and NVIDIA has posted its official performance benchmarks on GeForce RTX 30 and GeForce RTX 20 GPUs. During the benchmarks, RTX & DLSS were enabled to portray the full potential of its GeForce RTX hardware.
Before we view the scores, you should know that NVIDIA partnered up with CDProjektRed to implement it’s RTX feature in games. The graphic cards were benchmarked, with the game being at ultrahigh setting and ray tracing preset. The DLSS was set to performance mode.
At 4K resolution: the RTX 3090 was almost at 60 FPS while the RTX 3080 managed to remain in the 50-55 FPS range. As for the previous flagship, RTX 2080 Ti, it ran at 40 FPS. The frames will drop further if you will set the DLSS to quality mode.
When the resolution was set to 1440p, the GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 were able to provide a stable 60 FPS while the RTX 3070 and RTX 2080 Ti provide an average of 50 FPS average with DLSS enabled. The RTX 3060 Ti provides 44 FPS on average.
The benchmarks show that the 1080p resolution is perfect for RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 2080 SUPER, and RTX 2080 Ti graphics card if you want to play at ultra graphic preset with the ray-tracing enabled. You can gain a performance boost by disabling the ray tracing, but you will lose on the picture quality.
Prior to these benchmarks, Tomshardware shared their benchmarks too. As per their benchmarks, no card will be able to provide a stable 60 FPS at 4k resolution when all the settings are at max.
The reason why this was wrong is the fact that the benchmarks for both the GeForce RTX and Radeon RX GPUs were carried out on an unpatched build of the game which was running DRM and didn’t feature any proper driver support too NVIDIA’s performance is mentioned above and as for AMD, they have recently released a 50GB game driver for their Radeon RX 6000 series.
