NVIDIA Working On GeForce GT 1030 To Compete With Radeon RX 550

AMD announced their Radeon RX 550 on Tuesday at only $79. It is being marketed as an IGP replacement and it seems that market has sprung back to life. NVIDIA is preparing to combat the Radeon RX 550 with their own GeForce GT 1030 graphics card, based on the “Pascal” architecture. The card will cut out of the new 14 nm “GP108” silicon and could feature 512 CUDA cores and up to 2GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit wide interface.

Expect this card to be quite small and only reply on the PCI-Express slot only for power. It is likely to come in low-profile and fan-less designs as well. Expect an up to date I/O with HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4. The card is expected to be announced around mid-May.
