NZXT H440 Mid-Tower Case Review

Installation
NZXT has done a great job making installation in the case extremely easy, even for the beginner. The first thing that you are going to want to do is install your motherboard. NZXT has already pre-installed the standoffs for you, so that saves a step. Our ATX motherboard fits perfectly inside of the case.

Storage is next and we will be installing our 2.5-inch solid state drive on top of the power supply cover. The trays here can be easily removed with a single thumbscrew. Once removed you secure your drives to the trays with four screws then simply slide them back in.

Larger hard drives need to be installed in the larger metal trays on the backside of the case. These also come out and you again secure your drive with four screws. You can also install 2.5-inch drives in these trays if you wish. Once you have your drive installed simply slide the tray back in and secure it with the included thumbscrews.

Since this case has a power supply cover we actually need to install the power supply through the back of the case. There is a removable bracket that you attach to your power supply. Once it is attached slide your power supply into the back of the case and secure it.

Now that the power supply is installed we can go ahead and run all of our cables. There is more than enough room behind the motherboard tray to route all of your cables and the bottom of the case under the power supply cover gives you even more room to hide cables out of the way. There are tie-downs all over the place and NZXT does supply zip ties so you can secure all of your cables on the backside of the case. Also you can see how large the CPU cutout is, we could easily remove our CPU cooler without having to take the motherboard out of the case.

Video card installation went without issue, our GeForce GTX 680 fit in the case no problem. Also you can see that you can route the PCI-Express power cables through an opening in the top of the power supply cover. With everything installed and all of our wiring done we have a very clean system.

With the side panel back on the case you can really see how much of your hardware that is shown off and I have to say our system looks great! Turning the system on the NZXT logo on the power supply cover lights up white.

With the lights off you can see just how awesome the system looks powered on with the lights from the NZXT logo, our memory and CPU cooler. Also the same button that power on the lights for the NZXT logo also powers on the lights on the backside of the case. This makes connecting wires on the back of the case extremely easy, especially if you are at a LAN party.
