The OneXPlayer 2 Pro handheld has been officially released, showcasing the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U and starting at a price of $1049 US. Renowned for its premium handheld gaming consoles, OneXPlayer introduces its latest device, the OneXPlayer 2 Pro, featuring the new AMD Ryzen 8040 APUs, also known as Hawk Point.

The OneXPlayer 2 Pro represents a direct improvement, transitioning from the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U to the Ryzen 7 8840U. Featuring 8 Zen 4 cores, 16 threads, 8 MB L2 cache, and 16 MB L3 cache, this chip operates at a base frequency of 3.3 GHz, boosting up to 5.1 GHz, with a configurable TDP ranging from 15 to 30W. Additionally, it includes the Radeon 780M iGPU with 12 compute units at 2.70 GHz and an NPU delivering up to 16 AI TOPs, providing a combined 38 TOPS compute performance out of the box.

This highlights the efficiency of AMD’s Zen 4 core architecture and its superior AI capabilities, outperforming the Intel chip, which reaches a maximum of 11 TOPS. In a video demonstration, the chip maintains peak temperatures of 55°C, showcasing impressive performance for its 15-20W configuration.
