Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler Review

Phanteks PH-TC14S Overview
The first thing that I noticed about the PH-TC14S when I took it out of the packaging was that it was very thin. Again this is because it is made to be compatible with larger memory modules and motherboard VRM heatsinks, so you shouldn’t have any issues getting this cooler to fit in your system. The cooler has the official dimensions of 5.6×2.9×6.3 inches (LxWxH).

The cooler is designed as a dual-tower cooler with a single fan in the center. The heatsink towers are made up of aluminum fins and are extremely thin compared to Phantek’s other CPU coolers. The heatsinks are painted black, which makes this cooler quite easy to match with your motherboard. We are not sure if Phanteks will be releasing this cooler in other colors.

The fan that comes with the PH-TC14S is Phanteks own PH-F140HP PWM fan. This fan uses UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) bearing, Seven blades and MAFO (Maelstrom Air-Fort Optimization) drive system to achieve massive airflow and perfect dynamic balance. The PH-F140HP fans with the support of the anti-acoustic rubber pad produces low level dB(A) and eliminates vibration. With PWM functions built in, PH-F140HP fans allows you to set speed adjustments for either performance and/or silent operation.

Looking at the cooler from a side view you can really see how thin it is. It is only 2.9-inches wide! The center fan is actually thicker than each of the heatsink towers. We will just have to see how this affects performance.

There are six copper heatpipes that come out from the base of the cooler. These heatpipes come up in a “U” shape and go up into each heatsink.

The base of the cooler is also made of nickel-plated copper and looks perfectly flat with no noticeable machining marks. This should provide uniform contact on your CPU.
