It seems that many companies are focusing on smaller CPU coolers. Clearance has become an issue with systems becoming more compact and the popularity of small mini-ITX motherboards. So we can see why we have seen many smaller CPU coolers come out. The thing that is impressive to me is the performance of these coolers. They are designed to handle high thermal loads and overclocked processors. This is true with Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler.
In our testing the PH-TC14S came in the top half of CPU coolers that we tested it with. All of the performance numbers were very respectable and keep in mind with tested the cooler on an Intel Extreme processor, which runs hotter than your typical processor. The cooler is also set up to handle a second fan if you wanted to add more performance.
On top of great performance the cooler could not be easier to install. It took me no longer than 5 minutes to install the cooler and shouldn’t take you much longer than that no matter what your system setup is like. You also should be able to install the cooler inside of a case without having to remove your motherboard. You also are able to install this cooler in two different orientations. I really hope to see Phanteks keep this mounting system in future coolers.
If you are looking for a CPU cooler that you won’t have any clearance issues with and will provide great performance the Phanteks PH-TC14S is a great choice. Right now you can pick it up at my favorite online retailer for $54.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Phanteks PH-TC14S a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award.
