Gaming and Atmosphere
Another thing that really makes LAN parties great is the abundance of different games to play. If you just have the basic games they can usually get boring and you don’t want a whole room of people to be bored all at once! Pittco had dedicated servers have almost every game out there. Off my head I remember seeing UT3, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Left 4 Dead, and Call of Duty 4 servers. Not only did they have the normal game modes going they had many mods, which makes playing games even better! I played Counter-Strike: Source gun game deathmatch for quite a while!
There were many pickup games going as well. If someone put a server up for something they would announce it so people could jump on a play. I saw many people playing Warcraft 3, Starcraft, and even Quake 3! If you wanted to play a game at Pittco you could definitely find some people to play with you at here!
Even though there were a ton of gaming going on Pittco always has some Jackass tournaments! What they are is dumb contests when you can win a prize. 2 of the best from this wear were the frozen t-shirt and musical chairs. The frozen t-shirt was were the Pittco staff put a few t-shirts in water then froze them. Then they gave them to gamers to trying to take apart and put on. The person who put the shirt on the fastest won.
Just like with the consoles there were many PC tournaments. They had Counter-Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 4, and Starcraft. It’s crazy that these tournaments and the console tournaments were going on at the same time! Great organization by Pittco on that!
Case modding has never really been a big thing at Pittco, but one case really stood out to me. It was a case made out of blocks that was made to look like an 8bit game character. It was done great and even the eyes lit up and his staff was really cool too. This was one of the only modded cases at the LAN party, but it sure was a great one.
There were also some other pretty cool cases that we got a chance to take a look at.
I stayed till about 6AM when I had to crash. People stayed all the way to the next afternoon fueled by caffeine and pizza! The gaming kept on going all night through the night and you wouldn’t get bored, because there was always something you could be doing! This was another great Pittco event and I look forward to going to the next one!
