The XIOS DS Media Play is an extremely small device. It is a 3-inch by 3-inch square and is only 0.6-inches thick. That means if you plan to use this device in your home theater it is going to be out of the way. On the top of the device is the logo and a small little Android guy, which actually looks pretty cool.

Under the hood you have ARM Cortex A9 processor, Mali-400 Open GL 3D GPU, 512MB of onboard DDR2 system memory and 2GB of NAND flash storage. On the front of the device there are activity LED’s and the IR receiver for the remote.

Moving along to the right side of the device there is a storage slot that supports microSDHC cards up to 32GB and there are also two USB 2.0 ports. These ports can be used for storage devices like USB flash drives or even for peripherals like a keyboard and mouse. On the back of the device is another USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet port, HDMI out and power connection. There is also a small green power button.

Besides having the Ethernet port the XIOS also has 802.11 b/g/n WiFi. The bottom of the device is made of rubber so it will not move around on your desk or wherever you plan to have it. There is also a small upgrade button that is used when you are updating the firmware on the device. The included remote is pretty basic, it has a directional pad, menu, information and back buttons. Pivos also offers a Sense Wireless Motion remote that is much like a Wiimote.
