Plextor has just announced their new M6S Plus line of performance consumer solid state drives. These new drives will effectively replace the company’s current M6S lineup.
These new drives will make use of Toshiba A19 toggle NAND flash and a Marvell 88SS9188 controller. They will be available in 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512GB variants. As far as transfer speeds go sequential reads are up to 520 MB/s on all models and sequential writes are 300 MB/s, 420 MB/s and 440 MB/s respectively. Random IOPS speeds go up to 90,000 IOPS read and 80,000 IOPS write.
Plextor also brings over its PlexTurbo data-caching and PlexCompressor data-compression tech from the M6S. The drives are built on the 7 mm 2.5-inch form factor and have a SATA 6GB/s interface.
