PNY XLR8 Gaming Epic-X RGB 16GB 3600 MHz Memory Kit Review

PNY XLR8 Gaming Epic-X RGB Overview

We received the black version of the XLR8 Gaming Epic-X RGB that comes with a black heatspreader and matching black PCB. There is also a white version where you’ll get a white heatspreader. PNY is currently offering this memory in 16 and 32GB kit with speeds ranging from 3200 MHz to 4000 MHz.

The heatspreaders themselves are pretty basic being all black with angled lines and the XLR8 logo in the center. The angled lines sort of follow the “V” shape at the top of the heatspreader.

Flipping the modules over to the back you have the same design, but of course you have the typical sticker that houses all of the information on the kit. As a reminder this is a 16GB (2x8GB) kit that runs at 3600 MHz with timings of 18-20-20-40 at 1.35V.

At the top of each module is a diffused light bar that says “XLR8” towards the top end. I actually like this rather than having it right in the middle. The heatspreaders and lightbar do extend above the memory itself. At its highest point the memory is 47 mm tall, so keep that in mind.
