PowerSkin for iPhone 4 Review

PowerSkin Overview
The PowerSkin is an all black case, as of right now that is the only color available.  The case itself is made of soft silicon rubber so it will be easy to carry and pickup.  On the back there is also a PowerSkin logo, but other than that it is pretty plain.

As you could have guessed the case is larger than your normal iPhone case.  The actual dimensions are 5.1”(l) x 2.5” (w) X 0.77″ (h).  To give you an idea of how different it is from a normal iPhone case here are some photo of the PowerSkin next to the Speck GeoMetric iPhone 4 case.

On the bottom of the case you will not find an opening for the dock connector.  You will actually find 4 blue LED’s and a button.  These indicator LED’s will show you how much battery is left.  The button activates the LED’s and also when pressed in for 3 seconds will turn the charging on or off.  On the left corner there is a small USB connection.  This is not your normal USB connection, it is proprietary.  It is used to sync your iPhone as well as charge the battery in the PowerSkin.

On the inside of the case there is an xpal logo.  Here is a little blurb about xpal, “The XPAL Powered™ seal stands for quality, safety and efficiency – a guarantee that these traits are inside every product that authenticates through the XPAL verification service. XPAL Verified™ is an authentication process that underscores our commitment to quality, using complex algorithms to detect and transfer battery serial numbers to verify its legitimacy – a safeguard customers can trust.”  Also inside the case you will find the dock connector.
