Razer Games Store is Closing, Less Than a Year After it was Launched

If you can remember back in April 2018, Razer announced their games store, which was a digital games store. I guess they thought they could get some of the publishing revenue Steam was taking in? Well it seems as if it did not really pan out they way that they wanted. Razer will be closing the store as part of their “realignment plans”.

Razer will be closing the doors on their game store at 1am PST on February 28th. All purchased games from the store will continue to work, and pre-ordered titles will ship as planned. All discount vouchers for the store need to be used before that date though.

Razer has stated that it would “continue bringing games to gamers via other services.” “We will be investing in other ways to deliver great content and introduce game promotions through Razer Gold, our virtual credits system,” the company said.

If a company as large as Razer can not be successful in a digital games store, then what does that mean for the new Epic Games store?
