Samsung 870 QVO Overview
The Samsung 870 QVO is your typical 2.5-inch solid state drive, so there is nothing all that special about it. On the main side of the drive there is a large Samsung logo and a small arrow which points to the side where the connections are.
Flipping over to the back there is a large sticker with all of our information and serial numbers. There are also four holes for mounting the drive.
Like any SATA-based solid state drive we have SATA power and data connections on the end of the drive.
The drive is only 0.27-inches thick which makes it thin enough to fit in smaller form factor systems. There are also mounting holes on the side of the drive.
For those wondering what is under the hood of this drive it is powered by Samsung’s MKX S4LR059 controller which supports QLC memory and has eight flash channels. When it comes to the NAND Samsung as expected is using their own second-generation 96-layer QLC. Finally there is a 1GB Samsung LPDDR4 cache chip.
