We have been hearing a lot about the Samsung 850 EVO solid state drive since it was spotted at IFA. Rumors has suggested a November launch and that does seem to be right as the drive has popped up on Frys.com for pre-order with an estimated shipping date of November 3rd.
The price of the 1TB drive is set at $499. It looks like since the original find the estimated shipping date has been changed to November 24th. Probably since the media has picked up on it and Samsung sending a notice to Frys. The listing itself reveals that the drive will have sequential read and write speeds of 550 MB/s and 520 MB/s respectively. The drive will also make use of 3D V-NAND memory. Samsung’s 3D V-NAND uses a 3Xnm process and has enterprise level endurance ratings. This means that not much over-provisioning is needed.
