SanDisk Unveils 200GB microSDXC Card

At Mobile World Congress SanDisk has unveiled the world’s highest capacity microSDXC card. This comes a year after SanDisk announced the record-breaking 128 GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card. SanDisk has now increased storage capacity by 56% up to 200 GB and still keeps the same fingernail-sized form factor.

200GB SanDisk microSDXC Card

200 GB is the same capacity of 45 DVDs and 4 dual-layer Blu-ray discs. With this much storage you can capture up to 20 hours of 1080p content, ~100 720p movies, ~1300 MP3 music albums or ~20000 high-res photos.

Before you get super-excited it seems this card can only be used on Android devices right now as the press release states, “Ideal for Android smartphone and tablet users”. Also this microSD card will set you back as its $2 per GB or $400 retail. That is about double what a fast SSD costs per GB.
