Silicon Power UD90 Overview

The Silicon Power UD90 is your typical M.2 2280 (80mm) solid state drive. This time Silicon Power has gone with an all black PCB.

On the top of the drive there is a sticker that lets us know the model of the drive and capacity. Keep in mind that if you remove this sticker you void your warranty. For those wondering the drive does not ship with a heatsink, but of course most modern motherboards will come with M.2 heatsinks.

Flipping the drive over we can see that it is single-sided so it will easily fit in thin and light devices no problem.

Removing the sticker on the drive we can get a better look at the components. Here you’ll find the Phison PS5021-E21 controller as well as four Micron 176-layer 3D TLC NAND chips. There is no DRAM cache chip on this drive.
