SilverStone Hydrogon D120 ARGB CPU Cooler

Taking a first look at the Hydrogon D120 ARGB it is a large cooler, but definitely not that largest we’ve seen lately. It has official dimensions of 125mm (W) x 153mm (H) x 112mm (D) and weighs in at 885g.

Starting at the front of the cooler we have our main intake fan which is SilverStone’s own HYD120-ARGB fan. Both fans on the cooler are identical and run at a max speed of 1850 RPM with a max airflow of 56.23 CFM, max air pressure of 1.98 mmH2O, and a max noise level of 30.5 dBA. These of course are ARGB fans and each has a 3-pin addressable RGB header and pass-through so you can daisy-chain them. Each also has a PWM connector and pass-through so you can connect them together and run them off your CPU fan header or run them independently off different headers.

Looking at the cooler from the side we can see that second center-mounted fan as well as the dual tower design. These two heatsink towers have an offset design, which ensures that you do not run into any issues with RAM clearance. The two towers feature an aluminum fin stack and are not all that thick. We can also see the fans are held into place by fan clips.

The top of the cooler is not all that flashy we just have SilverStone logos on both of the heatsink towers.

Looking at the cooler from the back we can see how the heatpipes go up into each heatsink tower.

Talking about the heatpipes we have six 6mm-thick copper heatpipes which converge at the base of the cooler and of course go up into each heatsink tower.

The base of the cooler is nice and thick. It has a very nice finish on it, but machining marks are definitely visible.
