SilverStone Hydrogon D120 ARGB CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day I think that SilverStone has a really solid CPU cooler in their Hydrogon D120 ARGB. While it is not setting any records in terms of performance and noise levels it does do a good job and should be an excellent cooler for many people. One of my favorite things about this cooler is just how easy it is to install. Typically with most dual-tower coolers you have to remove at least one fan to get the cooler installed, but here you do not. That means installation is much easier and headache free. You can easily install this cooler with your motherboard already mounted in your case no problem.

Another thing that is nice about this cooler is that while it is big it is not a massive cooler. Many of the cooler we’ve reviewed lately are these massive coolers that are not only hard to install, but also cover your memory so if you invested in RGB memory you wouldn’t even be able to see it. With the offset design SilverStone made sure there were not any RAM clearance issues and you wouldn’t be covering your memory either. It is nice to get two ARGB fans with this cooler, which adds a little flair to your system, but with anything RGB it does add a little bit of cable mess.

Beyond the RGB fans though the cooler does have a pretty basic look and nothing to really make it stand out. There is no top cap or RGB on the top of the cooler and those heatsink tower and fingerprint magnets.

So as I said this cooler is not breaking any records, but it does a lot of things right. Now this cooler is supposed to have an MSRP of $49.99, but it is currently selling at our favorite online retailer for $61.12. Overall ThinkComputers gives the SilverStone Hydrogon D120 ARGB CPU Cooler an 8 out of 10 score.
