Taking a first look at the drive it is your typical M.2 2280 (80mm) drive which can be installed on a motherboard or in a laptop. Here we have a black PCB and a simple sticker on top of the drive. There is no heatsink on the drive and it does not appear that SK hynix will offer a heatsink version so you’ll have to rely on the M.2 heatsink on your motherboard.
Flipping over to the back we can see that the drive is single-sided, which makes it great for thinner laptops. The only thing on the back is a smaller sticker with all of your relevant information.
As I mentioned this drive and all of the components are made by SK hynix. So we have their Alistar Gen5 8-channel NVMe controller, 238-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory, as well as a DRAM cache chip.
