The Intel Core i9-14900KS Special Edition Processor is Official

Intel has officially launched the Core i9-14900KS Special Edition processor today. This will now sit as their flagship product in the consumer desktop segment. Based on the same “Raptor Lake Refresh” silicon as the Core i9-14900K, the Core i9-14900KS will have 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. The new thing that you are going to get here is increased clock speeds on these cores. The P-cores will now boost up to 6.20 GHz, which is a 200 MHz increase over the Core i9-14900K. The E-cores boost up to 4.50 GHz, which is a 100 MHz increase.

Beyond the bump in clock speeds, you are also going to get a 320W Extreme Power Delivery Profile. This is not available on the normal Core i9-14900K. On select Z790 and Z690 motherboards with two 8-pin EPS connectors the processor will be able to draw large amounts of power to hold on to its high boost frequencies. These processor are made from Intel’s highest binned “Raptor Lake Refresh” silicon.
