Toshiba Unveils Tegra 4-based Excite Android Tablets

It seems like Toshiba has its own charm by doing it three times. Earlier it was the “thrive” series and then coming up a bit short with it’s the “Excite” line. The company has completely replaced it with three new models which include Excite pure, Excite pro and Excite Write sharing almost the same body and dimensions.

The Excite Pure is a low priced offering, Excite Pro is catering gamers and Excite Write has both high end specs along with digitizer-stylus combo. They all run on 4.2 OS.

Toshiba Excite Pure

Starting off with the Excite Pure, it is a basic 10-inch screen (1280x800p) model powered by the Tegra 3 SoC , gorilla glass but with no rear camera. It is offered in only 16 GB model with MicroSD card expansion being offered at a price of $299.

Toshiba Excite Pro

Moving up to Excite Pro which hits the screen to 2560×1600 , 32 GB memory, 2GB RAM, micro HDMI, stereo speakers and an 8 megapixel rear camera. It is also latest in stepping up to Tegra 4 chip acquiring Gorilla Glass 2 which matches to that of Nexus 10. It also runs Android 4.2 and is available at $499.99.

Toshiba Excite Write

The God Father among these three is the Excite Write. This model is the same as Excite pro an addition to the fact that it also consists of an advanced digitizer and stylus. It’s just like imagining tablet with a pen support. This 1024 point pressure responsive stylus is called the ‘true pen” by Toshiba.
