A Closer Look
TRENDnet’s TEW-687GA has reflective black exterior along with its inconspicuous LED indicator lights will allow it to stealthily fit into almost any home entertainment center. Or if you don’t want it on display, you can easily slip it behind another device or off to the side.
The back of the device is home to the lone Ethernet port and power plug; while the bottom has some basic info about the device including MAC address and reset button.
Setup
There’s two ways to setup the TEW-687GA, one is with WPS and the other is manually. The WPS button sits atop of the device, it is silver colored and has two arrows on it. Holding down the WPS button for 2 seconds will enter the TEW-687GA into ‘search’ mode. At this time, also press the WPS button on a router that supports it, and within less than a minute, the TEW-687GA will be fully configured.
If you do prefer to setup the device manually, you’ll be presented with the following screen. It’s all pretty straight forward, enter the SSID and the appropriate security information. Also, if you use WPS or configure the TEW-687GA manually, the settings will be saved as a profile. You can connect to the TEW-687GA via the admin panel at any time and change which profile the device should use. This is useful if you move the device around, or if you just want it to connect to a different AP.
I have tried many many wifi adapters…..and I can say one thing for sure…
..I don’t know about you guys, but for me UAWIFI UA3 usb adapter is the BEST.
No other adapter can compare to this baby, it is VERY powerful.
There are few people sell them on ebay, but I got mine directly from mft. website http://www.uawifi.com price is same.
I also know that it is Made in USA, so at least by buying it I am supporting US workers…not Chinese.
Agree with GGG 100% UAWIFI UA3 adapter is one the best. I got 3pcs. and getting fw more for my dilivery trucks.
