Is the TRYX Turris 620 CPU Cooler Worth Picking Up?
TRYX definitely knows how to enter a market and with the Turris 620 being their first air cooler they are definitely making a statement. The big feature of this cooler definitely has to be the 5-inch IPS display. This display has a 720p resolution at 60 FPS with a pixel density of pixel density of 294 PPI. With those type of stats the display looks awesome! Within the TRYX Kanali software you have the ability to choose between 24 different preset animations for the display, but you can also choose your own media include videos, photos, and GIFs. On top of that you can overlay system stats, although they are a bit hard to read. I wish TRYX would add an outline or shadow effect so these stats are easier to read. I assume it could be done with a firmware update.
Beyond the 5-inch IPS display this is a massive CPU cooler featuring a dual-tower, dual-fan design with six 6mm-thick heatpipes. It can handle thermal loads up to 280W and in our testing it was at the top of our test results. The fans were a bit louder than others, but nothing that you would actually notice in real-world scenarios.
Being such a large cooler you might think that it would be hard to install, but installation is a breeze. You can totally install this cooler with your motherboard mounted inside your system. I would have liked to have seen a normal screwdriver included, not a L-handle one, the normal screwdriver is just easier to work with. Since the fans are on a rail system they are easy to remove for installation. While this cooler will completely cover your memory, the front fan can be adjusted up to make room for larger memory modules.
While we’ve seen screens on liquid CPU coolers for a while now, high quality screens are just coming to air coolers and TRYX is one of the first to use one. You’ll likely see a lot more air coolers with screens over the next year or so, but as of right now this is one of the best out there. On top of that the performance is great!
